At our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 18 November 2025, EWOV members voted in favour of three proposed changes to the EWOV Charter.

We are pleased that our Charter now:

  1. Recognises EWOV’s current privacy and Consumer Data Right jurisdiction.
  2. Expands EWOV’s jurisdictional limit for decisions to $100,000 for most complaints. Complaints relating to Schedule 4 of the Electricity Distribution Code of Practice remain at the limit of $20,000.
  3. Expands EWOV’s jurisdiction to ensure we are ready to effectively respond to external dispute resolution needs for new energy products, services and activities over time as regulations evolve.

These changes will help us to respond to the evolving needs of energy and water consumers and our members and were supported by the recommendations of the 2025 Independent Review of EWOV.

We thank our members for their continued support as EWOV adapts to meet both consumer and market expectations.

For information on the governance of updating the EWOV Charter, see the EWOV Constitution.
