Origin data security incident
In July 2026, energy retailer Origin Energy (Origin) became aware of a significant data security incident affecting some of its current and former customers.
Solstice gas network closure in Victoria
The Solstice gas networks in 10 regional Victorian towns will be shut down by mid-to-late 2026. Solstice is contacting affected customers about available support to switch to bottled LPG or electricity, to help customers maintain an energy supply after the closure date.
Greater Western Water billing issues
In May 2024, Greater Western Water moved to a new billing system. The new system caused issues for Greater Western Water customers, including delayed bills, incorrect bills, direct debit issues, missed concessions, payment difficulty and other customer service issues.
We have updated this guidance following the Essential Services Commission’s approval on 17 December 2025 of changes to Greater Western Water’s 2024–2028 customer charters.
