Embedded network customers have access to EWOV from 1 July 2018

As of 1 July 2018, Victorian electricity embedded networks customers will have access to EWOV’s free dispute resolution services.

This includes residents of caravan parks, retirement villages and apartment blocks. Additionally, business customers who are also serviced by an embedded network for power in shopping centres, will have access to EWOV.

This change is a result of amendments to the Victorian General Exemption Order (GEO) requiring both network and retail exemption holders to join a dispute resolution scheme. The Victorian energy regulator, the Essential Services Commission (ESC), formally recognised EWOV as that dispute resolution body on 19 March 2018.

EWOV will be ready on 3 April to receive applications for membership from embedded networks. Visit EWOV’s embedded network web page to access the online membership registration portal. The deadline for registration is the 1 July 2018.

If you have not already registered as an embedded network with the ESC, it is important to do so. Its registration portal can be accessed by visiting the ESC website.

It is necessary for the embedded network to be a member of the EWOV scheme before we can fully assist with a customer complaint.
