Based on the data below, some points of interest include:

  • As we near the end of the financial year, case numbers are down on the last financial year. If we project case numbers of 1,500 for each of May and June, we would end up recording close to 16,500 cases by the end of the 2021-22 financial year. This would be down on the 19,494 cases we received in the 2020-21 financial year.
  • High billing remains the most prominent issue in our complaints. Debt collection and disconnection and restriction cases are more prevalent this financial year, as companies have begun to increase this activity following the end of COVID-19 restrictions in late 2021.
