You're responsible for cutting trees on your property that may interfere with your electric service line — this includes private electric lines. You're also responsible for cutting back trees which may interfere with a private electric line on an adjoining property.

Trees near other electric lines that cross the boundary of your property and trees near electric lines in the street are the responsibility of the electricity distributor.

For further information see the EnergySafe Victoria website or view (or request) a copy of their pamphlet "Powerline Clearance and Your Property".

Please remember:
You’re responsible for keeping trees on your property clear of the line that provides service to you.
