A supply address may have up to four different meters installed, one per utility such as electricity (peak and off-peak), gas and water. For LPG, no meter needs to be installed as a customer is charged per delivery and volume. Whilst meters seem to have been the same for many years, the technology is changing. In Victoria as of mid 2009, new electronic meters called advanced meters will be rolled out over a period of four years.
