EWOV Cultural Values
EWOV covers the Victorian electricity, gas and water industries. Some of the companies participating in our scheme (scheme participants) are private companies — for example, the Victorian energy retailers and distributors. Others are government-owned — for example, the Victorian water corporations and some interstate energy retailers.
Each electricity retailer, distributor and transmission company operating in Victoria is required by its operating licence to participate in an Ombudsman scheme. EWOV is the scheme approved by the Essential Services Commission for that purpose.
In the same way, each natural gas retailer and distributor operating in Victoria is required by its operating licence to participate in an Ombudsman scheme.
In the case of LPG, EWOV membership is a requirement for the LPG retailers which volunteer to comply with the voluntary but enforceable Victorian LPG Retail Code.
Victoria's metropolitan, regional, regional urban and rural water corporations are all required by licence and/or legislation to participate in an Ombudsman scheme.
